MeeGo outruns Android 2.2 in JavaScript tests

updated 09:50 pm EDT, Thu July 8, 2010

Platform brings 50% improvement in tests

The Aava MeeGo development platform allegedly outpaces Android 2.2 in JavaScript tests. Carrypad was able to complete the SunSpider series of test operations in 4215ms on the MeeGo prototype, an improvement of approximately 1.5 seconds over a Nexus One running Android 2.2 and less than half the time it takes an iPhone 4 to finish the series.

The prototype handset is the first to be outfitted with Intel's 1.5GHz Atom Z600 CPU. As expected, the Aava device achieved SunSpider times very close to an Atom-equipped netbook.

Aava has yet to announce details of a public launch for its Atom-based handset.

    Over or Under

You wrote "1.5 seconds OVER a Nexus One" do you mean 'Under' as far as clocking time?

This is Not a fair test results

The device hardware config's are different. The Meego device has been using a 1.5 Ghz Processor and saving 1.5 seconds when compared to a snappy 1 Ghz Processor.By the year end when Meego goes for its launch, Android's platform would be real on a 2Ghz Processor and lets check what the Sun spier benchmark says.
Also, I wonder why the V8 JS tests is undone for such a comparison!!!! I beleive both should be parellel to go go hand in hand
