updated 04:45 pm EDT, Wed July 7, 2010

Broadcast suite makes several upgrades

ToolsOnAir has released just:play 1.2, a new version of company's broadcast server software. Meant primarily for TV stations, the program lets users schedule output from a variety of different video sources. This can include studio and live feeds, and real-time effects such as logos and tickers.

The new version makes improvements to the timeline interface, namely in terms of color coding and drag-and-drop commands. The Live Input function has been given Infinite Length and n+1 redundancy options, and import can now draw from Final Cut Pro XML playlists. just:play requires an Intel Mac with Mac OS X 10.5.4, 2GB of RAM, a dedicated video card and a supported capture card. Pricing is available from ToolsOnAir.
