Apple to open second Paris store on Saturday

updated 12:45 pm EDT, Mon June 28, 2010

Situated near Garnier operahouse

Apple will finally open its second retail store in Paris, France on July 3rd, the company has announced. The OpÚra outlet is based at 12 Rue HalÚvy, and so named because of its proximity to the Garnier operahouse. The location has been under construction for well over a year, due to the need to preserve and restore historic architecture, such as wooden doors, arched windows and wrought-iron balcony railings on the exterior.

Similar effort has been applied to the interior. The launch may have also been slowed by the sheer scale of the building, which has a 115-foot wide storefront and now includes a glass staircase leading to the mezzanine. The grand opening is set to take place at 10AM on Saturday; regular hours will run from 9AM to 8PM Monday through Wednesday, and from 9AM to 9PM Thursday through Saturday. The store will be completely closed on Sundays.

    C'est bien!

    Wow. Nice location.

Very happy for Apple in their prosperity and their apparent and masterful grand plans for expansion.

Seems like great timing for all of their real estate acquisitions.

MS must quaking at its very roots.
