Blendtec destroys iPhone 4 in latest "Will it Blend?" show

updated 02:45 pm EDT, Fri June 25, 2010

Host pokes fun at Gizmodo prototype saga

Following in line with Blendtec's "Will it Blend?" series of promotional videos, the company has destroyed Apple's new iPhone 4 handset. The phone's new housing appears to bounce around for a bit longer than its predecessor, before succumbing to the spinning blades.

The latest promotion makes fun of the saga surrounding the pre-release prototype lost by an Apple engineer. Host Tom Dickson meets with an actor portraying Steve Jobs, who trades an iPhone 4 for a Blendtec blender.

    I hate this

I respect how much work goes into designing and creating something like an iPhone it makes me ill to see one destroyed like this. I won't be buying one of their GD blenders.

    retarded

They should put their heads into it and see whether it blends.

    What a waste of money.

    Bass-O-Matic?

Dan Akroid's blending of bass on SNL was the peak of this particular genre,
    in 1978.

    Bunch of idiots

I just can't understand why the wanton destruction of a product--any product--should be amusing, entertaining, clever, or anything other than retarded. This has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the target is an iPone. I used to feel the exact same way when the juvenile morons at MacAddict distributed videos of their so-called editorial staff beating the c*** out of PCs with baseball bats and sledgehammers.

I'm with Geoduck: it will be a cold day you-know-where when I buy a product from that company!

    I'm with you folks...

This publicity stunt is getting more than a bit old. If you want to challenge the Blendtec, drop a 4" steel ball into it or something. Otherwise, buy a VitaMix which is a WAY better unit for doing what most people would buy a blender for anyway.

For everyone out there with top-secred data on their iPhones, and want to ensure no one can access it... I guess Blendtec deserves a sale. I want to make hummus and to-die-for cream of cauliflower soup.

Best use of an iPhone 4 yet!

Since you can't make calls with it, you may as well entertain yourself with it...
