FarmVille app coming to the App Store

updated 08:30 pm EDT, Wed June 23, 2010

Crop statuses available as push notifications

Zynga has announced that its popular FarmVille game will be coming to the App Store. The app will take advantage of touch-based input for zooming in or out, viewing farms, harvesting crops, or driving tractors. Users can even set alerts that provide crop status information via push notifications.

The iPhone launch will also bring several new market items and gifts, including a baby snow leopard and white apple trees. Current FarmVille users can seamlessly transition from the iPhone or iPod touch to a desktop system without losing progress.

FarmVille Mobile is set to be added to the App Store on Thursday as a free download, with additional content available as in-app purchases.

    Win for my mom

Her not being able to play Farmville was one of the only things keeping me from fully recommending an iPad to her :)

    Farmville bad

It's fun at first but then it just gets to be like a real farm where you have to work your butt off.
