New version of Postbox designed for home use
Postbox has launched a new home version of its self-titled e-mail application, Postbox Express. While this smaller version doesn’t carry all the functionality of the original Postbox, it still contains a wide range of tools for finding, organizing, and viewing e-mail messages. Features include a built-in search panel, support for tabbed e-mail browsing, and integration with a variety of Mac applications such as Address Book, iCal, Spotlight, iPhoto, and OmniFocus. A built-in status-update function is also provided, which can be used to send updates via Facebook, Twitter, or FriendFeed.
With the integrated search bar users can combine multiple parameters for browsing, such as sender, subject, or topic, as well as specific terms including “last Monday” or “this month”. Additional features include the ability to modify account and folder views, detailed summaries of e-mail threads, and built-in malware protection that checks URLS for possible viruses, spam, and Trojan horses.
Postbox Express requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher, and is available as a free download from the company.
