Data caps hold at 1GB default
Carrier Vodafone UK has accidentally leaked subscription plans for the iPhone 4, which is set to go on sale in the region on June 24th. Most notable in the information is the existence of universal 1GB cellular data cap; while low, the cap is less restrictive than options at O2, which require people to pay at least £60 per month if they want 1GB by default. At Vodafone a 1GB cap also exists on traffic at BT Openzone Wi-Fi hotspots.
Plans otherwise cost between £25 and £60 a month on a two-year contract, or £30 and £65 a month on an 18-month contract. Six tiers exist in both circumstances, offering anywhere between 75 and 3,000 minutes of voice, and unlimited texting past the base tier, which limits people to 250 messages. Phone prices start at £189 for 16GB and £280 for 32GB. These shrink as the cost of a monthly plan goes up, to the point that a phone can be free under the most expensive plans.
