International iPad shipments return to fixed schedule

updated 09:25 am EDT, Mon June 14, 2010

Still long delays for new buyers

Shipping times for international iPads are finally returning to a fixed schedule, updates at Apple's online stores indicate. The stores for Germany, Italy and the UK now show times of seven to 10 business days for all models. Previously, iPads were only set to ship in a broad "June" timeframe.

Apple has had considerable problems meeting iPad demand, in its home country as well as internationally. In recent weeks US retail stores have regularly had no 3G iPads in stock, and sometimes no or only a select few Wi-Fi models. It may take until the fall for Apple's supply capacity to catch up, Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster has suggested.
