Best Buy to join in iPhone 4 pre-orders on Tuesday

updated 11:25 am EDT, Mon June 14, 2010

Sits alongside Walmart, Apple

Best Buy will start taking pre-orders for the iPhone 4 on Tuesday, June 15th, according to an announcement. Aside from the retailer's regular stores, people will also be able to fill out orders at specialized Best Buy Mobile outlets. The iPhone 4 will ultimately ship on June 24th.

The company is joining Walmart, Radio Shack and Apple itself in selling the new iPhone. Walmart is not taking pre-orders; while Radio Shack may be participating in that regard, it has not made a formal announcement. Pricing should remain consistent across the board, about $199 for 16GB and $299 for 32GB, as connected to AT&T's upgrade arrangements.

    Radio Shack

I contacted Radio Shack and was told that they are going to taking pre-orders. The manager I spoke with didn't know what day the pre-orders would begin, but he didi write down my name and said he'd contact me when that happened. this was in the SF Bay area.

    What time do pre-orders start?

Has anyone seen any announcement when the Apple Store, BestBuy, AT&T, etc., will actually start taking pre-orders for the iPhone4? I'm guessing 9am Pacific time but that's just a guess.
