Jailbreaks emerge for iOS 4 GM on the iPhone 3GS

Only one day after Apple released the Gold Master seed of iOS 4, formerly known as iPhone OS 4, the firmware has already been jailbroken. The hack appears to use PwnageTool bundles modified for the GM, which reportedly allows users to preserve the baseband for

Other groups, such as the unofficial iPhone Dev Team, expect to have their own jailbreak and unlock tools ready for iOS 4 sometime in the next few weeks. Users can already jailbreak their iPhone 3GS running iPhone OS 3.1.3 or earlier.

Apple has scheduled the formal iOS 4 release for June 21, with free downloads to be available for the iPhone and iPod touch. [via Redmond Pie]
