Netvibes opens alpha RSS site for iPad

updated 04:35 pm EDT, Thu June 3, 2010

Incorporates Facebook, Twitter, other widgets

Netvibes has debuted an iPad web app to complement its desktop RSS service. Currently in alpha, the app mainly lets users aggregate a collection of RSS feeds, as with most RSS readers. A distinguishing trait though is the ability to load thousands of widgets, covering information such as stocks and weather, or tasks like updating Facebook and Twitter.

Articles marked as read on the iPad site sync with the desktop version, and vice versa. The alpha site is free to use, but signing up for a Netvibes account is recommended. The company is promising to add more features as iPad support progresses into beta and final stages.
