Universal app works on iPad and iPhone

DataViz has launched an update to its productivity suite on the App Store, Documents to Go. The latest version now works as a universal app, providing an additional interface that takes advantage of the larger display and higher resolution of the iPad.

iPad owners can also utilize iTunes File Sharing to migrate files between the tablet and computers. Support for inter-application document sharing enables the built-in iPad e-mail app to open Documents to Go attachments.

Users an all platforms can utilize several other new features such as MobileMe iDisk and SugarSync support. The company has also added localizations in Portuguese, French, Italian, German, and Spanish.

The standard Documents to Go version allows users to edit and create Word or Excel files, with viewing abilities extending to PDF, PowerPoint, iWork and other files. The Premium variant enables PowerPoint creation and editing, along with attachments via MS Exchange. Users can also use and sync files with the desktop software or content stored in Google Docs, Dropbox, and other storage services.

The basic Documents to Go universal app is now available on the App Store for $8, while the Premium variant can be purchased for $12.

    Formatting Issue

I was so excited to see that D2G had made it onto the iPad that I immediately invested $12 in the premium version. I was disappointed to find that the formatting in Word docs is messed up, and that I can't really edit with a wireless keyboard, since the arrow keys don't work. The ap has great potential, but a few glitches remain.
