MacNN reviews six iPad cases from various manufacturers

updated 05:10 pm EDT, Tue June 1, 2010

High marks go to Waterfield, Targus

MacNN has reviewed a group of six iPad cases, in part one of a series of reviews. The first collection falls into a basic category, with models that simply cover an iPad and secure it. The first reviews look at the Acme Made Slick Case, the NewerTech iFolio Black, the Waterfield iPad Ultimate SleeveCase, the STM jacket iPad, the Targus Crave Sleeve-iPad, and the Targus iPad A7 Sleeve. These have prices as low as $25 and as high as $100.

The STM jacket iPad rates a perfect five stars, with no major flaws to be found. It is described as inexpensive, well-made, and equipped with an iPhone pocket and a removable strap. The case is selling for $25. Three cases -- two from Targus and one from Waterfield -- score 4.5 out of 5, with only modest criticisms.
