Sanyo TV and Toshiba BD players pack Vudu movies

Vudu wrapped up its week in high fashion on Friday by marking the shipping of several devices that use its video streaming service. The Toshiba BDX2500 and BDX2700 provide access to 1080p movies from Vudu's service as well as CinemaNow and Netflix. They support the full BD-Live feature set, both analog and HDMI-based 7.1-channel surround, and playback from locally stored media that can involve H.264 or WMV videos.

The BDX2500 costs $180 and needs Ethernet or an optional USB Wi-Fi adapter to get online. Opting for the BDX2700 lifts the price to $230 and provides internal Wi-Fi.

Sanyo's DP55360 is the only TV entry but merges an Ethernet connection and the Vudu service into a single set. As a display, it fits into the mid-range with a 55-inch, LED-backlit panel and a 120Hz refresh rate. Its pricing isn't known.

Best Buy and several other retailers are carrying all of the devices today; the Sanyo set should also be available in Walmart.
