iPad slammed for its lack of Flash support

Fusion Garage CEO Chandra Rathakrishnan, one of the principal designers of the Joojoo tablet, has criticized Apple's iPad as it officially arrives this week in European cities. Rathakrishnan slammed the device for its lack of Flash support, a feature that is offered on the Joojoo.

"JooJoo delivers the entire Internet - including Flash-based websites," said Rathakrishnan. "That means you can play full versions of games, watch full-screen HD video and not have to be constrained within the 'walled garden' of the iPad environment."

Although Rathakrishnan admitted that the iPad's London launch was a "great theatre," he also slammed the App Store for allegedly selling "stripped down versions of actual websites."

An estimated 500 people lined up Friday morning outside Apple's Regent Street store in London, each waiting for a chance to buy an iPad. European customers reportedly placed nearly 900,000 pre-orders for the device, pushing the ship date back to July for many buyers.

Rathakrishnan previously admitted that the Joojoo is not intended to be an "iPad killer," while promising to fix some of the product's early issues such as an unsatisfactory user-interface. The CEO also acknowledged that many customers were apprehensive to buy a $500 tablet for a startup company currently involved in an ongoing lawsuit. [via TechDigest]

    uh huh...

i guess it's worth mentioning that even adobe distanced itself from the joojoo and its flash implementation. that's how bad it seems to be.

the 500 customers lined up in front of just one apple store probably represent the total count of customers joojoo has had since launch...
