Apple allows Canadian iTunes gift cards to work for apps

updated 05:50 pm EDT, Wed May 26, 2010

Canadian policies finally revised

Apple is reportedly allowing customers to use Canadian iTunes gift cards to purchase apps. The move reverses a long-standing policy that had prohibited Canadians from using their gift cards to purchase content other than music, movies, and videos.

iTunes gift cards are currently available in denominations ranging between $15 and $100, available at many retailers such as Walmart and Apple's own retail stores.

Apple has yet to officially acknowledge the change in terms. It remains unclear if the company plans to change similar restrictions in other international markets.

    iTunes Logo

Just wondering why Apple is still using the current iTunes logo. The iTunes Store has nothing to do with Physical CD's. Just wondering.

    RE: iTunes Logo

the iTunes Logo has become as iconic as the Apple Logo... if you recall in the past, the itunes logo's music note changed colors with version changes, it no longer does. The Blue note in front of the CD image is universally known now!

IN FACT, i am willing to bet that when most people see that logo now, the first thing that comes to mind is Apple or an iPod, certainly NOT music! Thats how powerful it has become... a picture of a music note and a CD doesn't trigger association with music. That is epic marketing!
