Handwriting recognition SDK beta release
Native Instruments has launched DEEP FREQ, a new effects processing suite for KORE 2, while PhatWare has announced the release of a public beta of its WritePad SDK
Native Instruments has announced the release of DEEP FREQ, its latest effects processing suite for use with KORE 2. Designed as a complement to the DEEP RECONSTRUCTIONS and DEEP TRANSFORMATIONS packages, the new effects suite focuses on allowing users to manipulate frequencies in a variety of ways. DEEP FREQ provides users with 150 multi-effect combinations based on the sound processing engines of ABSYNTH, GUITAR RIG and REAKTOR.
By using a combinations of filters, resonators, frequency shifting, resynthesis, granular synthesis and other algorithms, DEEP FREQ can help users alter and reshape the tonality of beats, melody lines, vocals or any other audio material. The software is currently priced at $80 and can be found in the online Native Instruments store.
WritePad SDK made available through public beta release
In response to numerous requests from developers, PhatWare has announced the release of a public beta version of its WritePad Software Development Kit for the iPad and Mac OS X. The new SDK provides developers access to the company's handwriting recognition technology, which is capable of identifying natural handwritten text in a variety of handwriting styles. The technology is also able to recognize dictionary words from its main or user-defined dictionaries, as week as provide automatic segmentation of handwritten text into words. WritePad currently supports English, French, German, and Spanish languages, with the promise of additional language support to come in future updates.
