Some iPads already arriving overseas?
updated 01:40 pm EDT, Thu May 20, 2010
General availability only due on May 28th
The iPad is already arriving overseas, even if it is not necessarily being shipped to the public, a website claims. So far refusing to disclose the source, iPadItalia is now hosting photos of an iPad with Italian app names, accompanied by an instruction leaflet in the same language. The box for the device is noted to include a power supply formatted for continental Europe.
The iPad is only officially scheduled to ship to Italy on May 28th, alongside models for Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. Apple has, however, already opened up the iPad App Store in several non-US countries. iPadItalia mentions rumors that the iPad will be available across Italy from both Apple Stores and official resellers, but that as in the US, there will be no special launch hours.

My order actually says:
Estimated Shipping: Delivers by May 28th
That does not mean it is shipped on the 28th, it means it will be delivered on or before the 28th. My guess is that we are going to see some earlier deliveries.
