Cerevo camera gets Ustream, summer launch worldwide

Videos uploaded via 3G or Wi-Fi

Cerevo has introduced an updated version of its social camera, which now supports Ustream broadcasting. The redesigned model, referred to as the Cerevo Cam Live, will allow users to livestream video directly from the device via 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi connections or even 3G networks. Other automatic upload options include YouTube, Picasa, or Twitter hosts.

Streaming video is broadcast in 352x288 resolution, although the camera's 9-megapixel CMOS sensor also allows users to record video in a variety of other resolutions up to 720p. A full charge is claimed to provide two hours of livestreaming, while the content can be previewed on a 2.4-inch LCD.

Although the previous Cerevo Cam was only available in Japan, the latest version is set for a worldwide launch this summer. The basic camera will carry a $216 price tag. Customers can also purchase a special Ustream package for $20 more, which adds a wide conversion lens, 4GB microSD card, and a mini tripod. [via CrunchGear]
