SwitchEasy, IvySkin unveil new iPad screen guards, cases

updated 11:05 pm EDT, Mon May 17, 2010

PureReflect, PureAnti-Reflect screen guards

SwitchEasy and IvySkin have both announced new protective screen guards and cases for the iPad. SwitchEasy’s new line of PURE screen guards consists of the PureProtect, PureReflect, and PureAnti-Reflect. As their respective names imply, each guard has a specific purpose. The PureProtect is designed to guard the iPad screen with a high-gloss coating, while PureReflect offers a mirror-style surface and PureAnti-Reflect works as a smudge-resistant and anti-glare layer. The screen guards also come with a microfiber screen wipe and a squeegee to help with installation.

IvySkin has unveiled two new protective cases, the SmartCase Qattro-T5 and Xylo-T4. The latest Quattro-T5 case is similar to the original SmartCase series made for the iPhone 3G/3GS, adding a redesigned 3000mAh battery for longer run time with the iPad. Aside from guarding the device housing, both cases also offer a built-in screen protector that will not inhibit touchscreen functionality. Additionally, each case is made from shock-resistant polycarbonate material with a soft coating.

All three screen guards are currently available from SwitchEasy’s website and priced at $15 for the PureProtect, $18 for the PureAnti-Reflect, and $20 for the PureReflect. The new iPad SmartCases can also be purchased from the company’s website and are priced at $40 for Xylo-T4 and $70 for Quattro-T5.
