Litl hub to get touch remote, Linux in 2011

Litl expanded on its TV media hub plans Thursday with more details as to how it will work, including its unique remote. The hub itself will have a simple x86 processor (likely an Intel Atom or a Via chip) but will talk to a touchscreen remote with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. It would support unspecified multi-touch gestures as part of the UI.

The hub itself would still run a version of the Linux-based OS used in the Webbook and would have both HDMI and RCA output as well as Ethernet and Wi-Fi to get online. Flash is a cornerstone of the device, and an SDK should be available at Friday's Flash and the City conference to help write TV-friendly apps.

A release for the unnamed set-top box isn't due until early 2011, and consequently details like pricing aren't readily available.
