Sony quietly discontinuing Alpha A900

Sony appears to be quietly discontinuing its α900 digital SLR camera. The company's Hong Kong website now lists the camera as a discontinued product. The flagship device was Sony's first full-frame camera, packing a 24.6-megapixel CMOS sensor.

The α850 was introduced after the α900 hit the market, retaining most of the essential features while slashing $700 from the price tag.

It remains unclear if Sony will introduce a new flagship model alongside the NEX-series cameras, which are rumored to be introduced on May 11. [via Photo Rumors]
