Movie Buddy offers enhanced Netflix integration

A new application for managing a Netflix account on the iPad has been released in the App Store, while news of a new dating site geared towards Mac users has been announced

A new iPad application for managing a Netflix account has been released in the App Store. Through Movie Buddy for Netflix, users are able to add, reorder, and remove items in either their DVD/Blu-ray or Instant Watch queue lists. Users are also able to browse through the entire Netflix catalog and sort movies in a variety of ways, including by category and genre. Movie Buddy also integrates with the official Netflix application for viewing instant watch movies. The developers claim that this application is the first native iPad application to provide all of these features, and is currently offering it for a reduced price of $1.

Dating site designed for Apple fanboys and girls

Cupidtino is a new online dating site, geared towards diehard Mac and Apple fans, that is currently in development and expected to launch in June. Claiming that diehard Apple fanboys and girls have a similar sense of style, taste, and love for technology, the new dating site looks to provide a place for likeminded people to meet. Plans have been made to bring the dating service to all of Apple's major devices, including the Mac, iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Those interested in the new site can sign up for a beta invitation or follow Cupidtino on Twitter for additional information. The developers area also currently looking for several new staff members that live in the Bay Area.

Not only that, but you have to have the Netflix app installed so you can use their app to stream your movies. If that's the case, why not use the Netflix app to begin with?

    Why MovieBuddy?

Our statement isn't inaccurate. The Netflix app doesn't provide the features of MovieBuddy when you take into account visual features. Last I checked the Netflix app was mostly just a web view of the Netflix website, nothing special about it. MovieBuddy provides a different user experience. You need the Netflix app to stream because there's no public API available at this time to get that functionality on the iPad.

Time and time again the market has shown that some folks are willing to pay for a better experience and it is for this reason that MovieBuddy was created. Some iPad users want something better than just a website. Some folks are ok with the native Netflix iPad app and for those folks we currently don't offer a value add.

We're getting great feedback and feature suggestions from our users and we're going to incorporate these suggestions into our subsequent releases. Thanks! Brian.
