QuickScript 3.0 adds writing line to handwriting software

New version adds manual controls for sending text

Axiotron has updated its handwriting recognition application, Quickscript 3.0. The software uses a handwriting recognition engine from Vision Objects, and recognizes cursive handwriting, hand printed text and single characters, with support for 26 languages. It supports direct input into applications like Word, Excel, Pages and TextEdit. It uses Kopernikus digital assistant software, which supports AppleScript, allowing users to open applications and perform other tasks by writing short commands on the Quickscript writing pad.

Quickscript 3.0 offers a writing line along with user control of how fast text is sent. It now can adjust the auto-spacing feature. There are also numerous small improvements and fixes.

Quickscript works with Axiotron's ModBook Mac tablet computer along with standard Macs with pen tablet devices attached. It requires Mac OS X 10.5 and works with Snow Leopard. The software is $40 but will sell for $30 until May 31.

    WOW!!! BUT SO WHAT...

...That the Axiotron Modbook is a Dead Product now that the Macbooks being sold by Apple now can not be converted over to Modbooks because of the current design. Plus their Modbook Pro priced over $5000.00 is also delayed now more then 12 months since it was to ship out to the public in 2009. Really their product of the MOD's was a flash of Genius in a Pan, but now gone.

I'm a proud owner of a Modbook since it was shipped out to me on the waiting list 14 months delayed. I think that the iPAD is the killer here for them too, as I can use Sketch Book Pro and a PoGo Stylus better then the Modbook Stylus could ever do in a million years!

QuickScript is just another Mod Gimmick to keep our attention for their dead product line. I would be more interested in using this in some custom application on the iPad or a Wacom Tablet way before adding this to a Modbook.

Axiotron Needs to do the following FAST!!!

    1. Start with a REAL RELEASE DATE of something they offered more then a year ago.
    2. Answer some of their Customers Support problems, or even just communicate with their customer base to some point! Axiotron has seriously dated Forums from 2008 & 2009 Still waiting for answers.
    3. The price of the Modbook Pro of over 5K is a deal breaker in my book. At that price I could buy 2.5 Wacom Screen Tablets or 3 of the Wacom 12" Screen version Tablet with Base Mac Mini's.

Software is no big deal when you have junk to run it on!
