NewerTech launches all-in-one HDMI adapter

Converts HD video and digital audio

NewerTech has launched the Mini DisplayPort with 5.1-Channel Digital Audio to HDMI Adapter. The new device allows users to connect HD monitors or televisions to a wide range of Mac computers via the Mini DisplayPort. It offers support for full 1080p resolution, along with uncompressed 5.1-channel audio. User's can power the adapter through the computer's USB port, and are given over three feet of cable to manage. Features include support for bandwidth speeds up to 2.25Gbps per-channel, and a dedicated TOSLINK audio cable for receiving an audio signal from the Mac's headphone jack.

The Mini DisplayPort adapter is said to be compatible with any 2009 Mac computer and laptop that has a built-in Mini DisplayPort. This adapter is the newest product in the company's long line of Mini DisiplayPort adapters, which cover everything from Mini DisplayPort to DVI, and Mini DVI to VGA.

The Mini DisplayPort with 5.1-Channel Digital Audio to HDMI Adapter is available to order online from NewerTech's website and is priced at $60; also included is a one year warranty through the company.

    I can't wait to get my hands on this - this would be excellent for those who have Mac Minis as home theater PC's with a simple setup.
