Plugins tackle motion, noise

Developer RE:Vision is now selling four new FxPlug plugins, all designed for Apple's Final Cut Studio. Adapted from their After Effects versions are FieldsKit 3.0 and ReelSmart Motion Blur 4.0. The former uses field reconstruction and adaptive motion to build full frames, while ReelSmart is intended to generate or remove motion blur. The pair are said to be faster in Final Cut form, and require Final Cut Pro 6.0.3, Final Cut Express 4.0.1 and (in the case of ReelSmart) Motion 4.0.2.

FieldsKit for Final Cut typically costs $90, but is $30 for owners of the After Effects edition. Similar pricing is in effect for ReelSmart, with the addition of a $150 Pro version. Upgrades from equivalent After Effects plugins are $30 and $45.

Twixtor is used to accelerate or decelerate sequences, warping and interpolating as necessary. The v5.0 release is said to include faster processing. Users must have Final Cut Pro 6.0.3 or later, and pay $330 for a new Regular copy or $595 for Pro features. Upgrades from v4.x releases of Twixtor cost $83 and $150.

DE:Noise strips noise and other unintended blotches from video, using special techniques to try and preserve edge details. Version 2.0 is claimed to be significantly faster, while also improving precision in several modes. The software is $150 new, or $38 as an upgrade. Final Cut Pro 6.0.1, Final Cut Express 4.0.1 and/or Motion 3.0.1 are required.

RE:Vision is also selling an updated Effections bundle, v9.0, with all four plug-ins assembled for $890. Moving up from any previous version costs $225.
