Pentax K-x in US now has some Japan color options
Pentax provided a surprise to US photographers on Friday by giving them several new colors for the K-x DSLR. Previously only available in Japan, colors such as bright blue, green, orange, purple have joined the existing black and red. The original navy blue has disappeared from the line.
Unlike the options in Pentax's home country, the grip and lens are always black on all but the red K-x, which already had a red version of the 18-55m kit lens. The Japanese camera has man as 20 different colors for just the body and lets users customize the grip and lens with the same tones.
Regardless of color, all the US cameras cost $650 and share the same 12-megapixel CMOS sensor, 720p video and 4.7FPS burst shooting as before. Pentax isn't immediately carrying stock but tells shoppers to expect it within 10 days of an order.
