Panasonic VT25 3D plasmas ship in May

Panasonic this afternoon set down concrete details for the launches of the VIERA VT25 3D-capable plasma TVs it first mentioned at CES this year. The 50-inch and 54-inch sets are both due the week of May 3rd and will cost $2,600 and $3,000 respectively. The larger 58-inch and 65-inch panels have a less definite June shipping window and will cost $3,400 and $4,300 for the extra screen area.

Every set comes with a pair of active shutter glasses to achieve the 3D effect, but extra pairs cost $150 each.

As the top range in Panasonic plasmas, all the sets muster a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio thanks to a new phosphor. They refresh at 600Hz and carry the expected Internet connection features, including Netflix and Skype support, as well as VT25-specific features for ISFccc-level color calibration and a reference picture mode.
