Convert PDF to Word, Excel documents

Solid Documents has announced a new PDF conversion utility, Solid PDF to Word. The software allows users to convert PDF files into editable Microsoft Word documents or other file formats. Features include batch-processing support, options for converting or removing headers or footers, and the ability to automatically transfer URL hyperlinks from the original PDF to a new Word document. Users can also reconstruct various bordered or borderless tables as table objects.

Users can also convert PDFs to Text, HTML, or formats supported by iWork Pages, while keeping all text, images, tables and page layouts intact. Tables can also be extracted and re-used in Microsoft Excel.

Solid PDF to Word requires Mac OS X 10.5 or higher and is currently in its beta stage, with a free trial available from the company’s website. The full version is scheduled for release on April 28th of this year, although pricing has yet to be announced.
