Apple integrating Facebook Connect into iTunes interface

updated 03:45 pm EDT, Tue April 6, 2010

Users can share purchase info with friends

Apple is allegedly integrating Facebook Connect directly into the iTunes interface, according to TechCrunch. The service will allow users to share details of recent purchases with other Facebook friends, essentially improving existing functionality which also extends to Twitter.

The company has recently been paying additional attention to Facebook, expanding the Facebook.com/iTunes page with polls and featured items. Apple's Facebook page is now advertised from within iTunes, while an App Store app will be added to the social networking site.

Sources suggest Connect on iTunes will be available soon, although a specific date still remains unknown.

Hopefully there's a way to hide this cr_p. Facebook is like a cancer on the web, and now in desktop and mobile apps as well. No way they should be trusted with all this demographic info on me.
