Zinio for iPad puts 2400 magazine subs in one app

updated 06:00 pm EDT, Fri April 2, 2010

Seven magazines already optimized for iPad use

Zinio has launched its self-named iPad app, providing a multimedia magazine interface for the iPad. The iPad app (free, App Store) use multi-touch to more easily navigate publications, enlarging photos, launching web pages from links and e-mailing articles to others. The Zinio app allows for iPad users to pay once for a subscription and then share the publication on iPhones, Macs and other platforms.

Zinio for iPad is a container rather than a single-purpose app and carries over 2,400 magazine titles. On launch it will feature seven titles specifically optimized for the iPad, including Car and Driver, Macworld, National Geographic, Spin, Sporting News Today and VIVmag. The app also works on the iPhone and iPod touch.

    let's hope

it's a much improved version over the iphone/touch one.
the iphone one doesn't show all my subscriptions even though they are listed as available, there's an edit button that doesn't work.
it will show everything you choose to sample and there's no way to get rid of them. you can't even go to the website to delete them. i had to email them to remove the samples.
you have to be on wifi to download.
