A4 CPU, Infineon 3G baseband chip visible

The FCC has published several photos detailing the internal components of an iPad. The teardown shows the interior surface of the aluminum housing, which appears to be machined out of a solid block with material removed in a step pattern.Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios are built onto a rigid strap that runs from the top of the device and terminates at the dock connector.

The thin battery appears to fill most of the free space in the housing, while the main logic board has been placed in the topmost section. A speaker module fits below the battery, while the Wi-Fi antenna is located along the edge of the case.

Infineon's X-Gold 608 3G baseband chip is visible on the square board with a beveled edge, while Apple's logo can be spotted on the company's own A4 ARM processor on the main logic board. Two Toshiba flash memory modules are also integrated onto the main board.
