JooJoo tablet faces shipping delays

Units allegedly held by customs

Fusion Garage's JooJoo tablet appears to be facing shipping delays, leaving additional unanswered questions surrounding the device. The startup initially referenced March 29 as the day customers would begin receiving the tablets. As target day has come and gone, customers are left to wonder what the actual time-frame might be.

The company refutes the suggestion that manufacturing problems are still pushing the project back, as the units were allegedly delayed by customs officials, according to Engadget. The paperwork problem is said to be resolved, and the "absolute worst case" brings the arrival date to April 2nd via overnight delivery.

A leaked document from TechCrunch's lawsuit against Fusion Garage suggests the company may have only landed approximately 90 pre-orders, with 15 customers already canceling and receiving refunds.

The JooJoo has been surrounded with controversy since its conception, as TechCrunch was known to have worked with the startup during the design phase when the tablet was labeled the CrunchPad. Fusion Garage eventually severed ties to finish development using the new name, a move which led to the ongoing lawsuit.

    Does It Even Really Exist?

90 people out there are eager to know!

... with 15 customers already canceling and receiving refunds.

    Make that 75.

    JooJoo means "magic"...

Fusion Garage managed to make pre-order money disappear like magic.

Geeks are so into hardware and specs, they never stop to consider that the company may be just some sort of Ponzi scheme.

Ya see, what happened is . . .

Betty in shipping decided to take the week off, since the boys in manufacturing were putting in double-time trying to meet the need. I mean, 90 pre-orders . . . Apple can only dream of that kind of success.

Anyway, Betty is taking the week off, and UPS can't read anyone else's handwriting.

Fusion Garage's new motto: "There's Nothing Like A Quality Tablet"

    In another thread ...

... I said I actually felt sorry for the 75 brave souls who bought into this fiasco.

Now I'm moving into hoping Trolltudo, by virtue of his *conspicuous* absence from these JooJoo threads, is one of the "lucky duckies."

    JooJoo the....

JooJoo, you're the BooBoo now. Should have stuck to TechCrunch because they got the marketing inroad to U.S. customers... oh, well, doesn't make any different, iPad will eventually crush every tablet out there.

I Waited 339 Days for Delivery of a...

Axiotron Modbook when they first came to market, I still feel like an Idiot waiting all that time for a Macbook converted over to a Tablet Mac, but I did. I'm using it now and pretty much all the time. I'm also waiting on the iPad to be delivered on the 3rd now too. The Axiotron Modbook was a hot product in the beginning and was a hard sell to many people. Since I continue to use it all the time daily, its hard to say if all the delays and the long wait period was worth it now looking back. The JooJoo I bet will take the same route as the Modbook did with lots of problems in the beginning.

The JooJoo is so hot it sold a total of 90 pre-orders in over 3 months.
