Jabra Clipper unites phones, music players

updated 07:10 am EDT, Thu March 25, 2010

Jabra Clipper priced, dated, exclusive to Verizon

Jabra at the CTIA show on Wednesday announced the North American ship date for its Clipper stereo Bluetooth headset introduced at MWC in February. The device, which can stream music and take calls from a connected cellphone, will ship in May and will be an exclusive to Verizon. Its earbuds feature noise-cancelling technology, while the namesake design makes it possible to clip onto bags, belts and clothes.

A multi-function button can pause and skip tracks, as well as adjust the volume; if both a phone and music player are active, it can pause the player to take the phone call. It plugs into a standard 3.5mm audio connection or can pair to two Bluetooth devices at the same time. Supported profiles include EDR, A2DP and AVRCP. Battery life is rated at six hours of talk time and eight days of standby.

When it arrives at Verizon, the Clipper will cost $60; it should work with non-Verizon phones.
