ElcomSoft updates iPhone Password Breaker
New information on several upcoming EA Mobile iPhone titles has been released, while ElcomSoft has announced an update to its software for unlocking iPhone backups
EA Mobile has posted some new information and screenshots for several of its upcoming iPhone and iPod touch games. The Sims 3 World Adventures will allow players to explore three exotic locations including Egypt, France, and China. Users can also transfer their Sims back and forth between the iPhone/iPod touch version and The Sims 3. Also currently in the works is an updated version of EA's classic city-planning game, SimCity Deluxe. The game will feature an improved interface that includes larger buttons, better flow, and quicker access to important items. Users will also be able to modify the terrain of their city, and work through seven different scenarios.
ElcomSoft updates utility for unlocking iPhone backups
ElcomSoft has updated its Elcomsoft iPhone Password Breaker software to utilize GPU-acceleration via NVIDIA and ATI video cards for forensic use. Based on internal testing, the software breaks password protected iPhone backups up to 20 times faster than tools that do not use video acceleration. The password breaker recovers the plain text password that secures the backup, and also includes brute force and advanced dictionary attacks with a wide range of permutations to speed up the password recovery process. iPhone models currently supported includes the 3GS, 3G and 2G models, as well as all generations of the iPod touch.
