New VGA and HDMI DisplayPort adapters

StarTech has launched a new line of Mini DisplayPort adapters, used for connecting displays to either PC or Mac computers. The first of the three new additions is the Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter, which is designed to connect a VGA monitor or HDTV and offers support for resolutions up to 1920x1200 and a maximum HDTV resolution of 1080p. The Mini DisplayPort to HDMI supports the same resolutions as the previous adapter.

The last addition to the line is the Mini DisplayPort to DVI cable, which delivers the same output for regular digital displays.

All three adapters will support both Macs and Windows PCs with the new connector and are available to order from StarTech. Prices top out at $30 for the VGA adapter and drop to $25 for either the HDMI or DVI adapters.

    Audio Clarification

The mini Displayport specification specifies pins and wires for audio but Apple does not support audio over displayport. Hence Gefen's new gadget that takes the audio out of your mac via usb and then combines it with the video over displayport into an HDMI cable. It is misleading to suggest that the above HDMI adapter provides a single cable AV solution. This is not StarTech's fault, it is both Apple's and the graphics card manufacturers. See this article:

Please correct article text regarding audio

Isn't the phrase regarding the HDMI converter: "supports the same resolutions as the previous adapter but carries audio and is especially tailored to home theater Macs" just plain wrong, rather than misleading? I recommend correcting the original entry.
