Navigon launches regional navigation apps at reduced prices

Regional apps offer in-app upgrades to new regions

NAVIGON has announced regional mobile navigator apps for lower prices than its primary MobileNavigator North America app. The navigation specialist has released three regional apps, US Central, US East and US West options, at substantially lower prices compared to the company's flagship MobileNavigator version. Users can expand out of their region at a discount as well, when needed. The app supports upgrading to another region from within the app, while on the go. The app actually downloads the entire US map on first purchase, then makes regions available as they are paid for, removing the need for additional downloads on expansion into a second or third region.

The new apps have a new feature, which is not yet in the flagship -- it will be added in ver1.5 of MobileNavigator -- called MyRoutes, which allows the app to learn a user's driving style. It recognizes patterns in the users choices to provide customized, improved rout recommendations. It also offers one or two alternative routs for each search, with map display and ETA info included for each route.

Pricing is reduced through April 12, with each regional app costing $25 sited of the regular $30. Upgrades to a second or third region will $13 until April 12, when the price bumps to $15. The Traffic Live feature available in app for $25 is also reduced to $20 until April 12. The flagship MobileNavigator app is $80.

    Can't get it to install

It says it is 1.4GB in size, but with 3.82GB of free space on my iPhone, it says I don't have enough room to install it! What's up? Navicon site says you need double the app size to install, then you reclaim the extra space, but shouldn't 3.82GB be enough?

    5GB should do it.

Just don't sync one of your larger playlists and it should be ok.

Congrats on your purchase. IMO Navigon is in the best in the app store.

I just don't understand the pricing. It looks like you can get all three regions for $51 which is $29 less than the full app. That's a steal.
