Orbino launches Padova iPad cases, offers exotic skins

updated 04:20 pm EDT, Tue March 16, 2010

Options include crocodile, ostrich, snakeskin

Orbino has launched a new hand-stitched leather iPad case, Padova. The case is a play-through design, with a removable shoulder strap. It integrates a rigid leather flap with a hidden magnet closure to secure the iPad face when traveling - the flap doubles as a stand for both vertical and horizontal viewing when the device is in use. The case also has cutouts for the iPad's recharging cable, headphones, speakers and controls.

The Padova allows for docking the iPad while still in the case. It comes in four colors, including black, brown, deep red and pecan. There will be limited edition models in luxury skins, including crocodile, snakeskin and ostrich.

Prices start at $210 for the standard colors, with the exotic skins selling for $570 (ostrich) and $690 (crocodile). Snakeskin versions have not been priced yet. The cases are available for pre-order now, with shipping expected in early April.

Sure. Sign me up for a case that costs more than the iPad itself. While you're at it..I'll take 2. Not!

If I Paid That Much For An iPad Case ...

... I'd want to get a case for that case.
