EPIX makes team for iCON
Fake Steve Jobs writer Dan Lyons might be getting his own TV series pilot, according to Deadline. EPIX and Media Rights Capital have reportedly made a team for the comedy series, iCON, that will be directed by TV writer/producer Larry Charles, who is known for directing Sacha Baron Cohen's programs Borat and Bruno.
The lead character, Tom Rhodes, will represent a composite of Jobs and other Silicon Valley executives. MRC allegedly chose EPIX to allow Charles to keep the "savage satire" as edgy as he wants it to be.
We are attempting to do nothing less than a modern Citizen Kane,” Charles said. “A scabrous satire of Silicon Valley and its most famous citizen. We needed a bold environment to nurture such a vision."
