Team leader heads to Agnilux
PA Semi founder and CEO Dan Dobberpuhl has reportedly resigned his position with Apple. The timing of Dobberpuhl's departure remains unclear, according to CNET sources, although he is now believed to be working at the Silicon Valley startup Agnilux.
"He was the CEO at PA Semi and leader of the team, and one of the guys that was driving the whole thing," said Linley Group analyst Linley Gwennap. "Those guys are start-up kind of people, and within the structure of Apple, they may [have been] chafing."
Dobberpuhl may be working alongside several other ex-PA Semi employees who left after Apple purchased the company in 2008 for $278 million. Engineers Olof Johansson and Todd Broch are said to have joined Agnilux, according to a recent New York Times report. The startup's COO, Mark Hayter, and chief executive Amarjit Gill are also on the list of ex-Apple staff
Agnilux has remained tight-lipped regarding its current business plans, although the company is believed to have partnered with Cisco for work on a server.
