Maps now support pinch to zoom
TomTom on Monday released an update to its self-titled navigation app for the iPhone. Version 1.3 brings a number of improvements, including Google search for finding points of interest or other information. Users can now view real-time traffic information or use pinch gestures to control the zoom level on the navigation map.
The update integrates TomTom's latest map revision and a new option for saving locations from other iPhone apps or browsers. The latest version also uses local sunrise and sunset times to automatically adjust screen brightness, while music volume lowers during turn-by-turn instructions.
Current users of the TomTom iPhone app can download v1.3 from the App Store as a free update, while new customers can purchase the utility for $60 with US maps. Adding Canadian maps costs an additional $10, while the company's traffic service is available as an in-app purchase for $20 each year.
