New cases available now for pre-order
The iPad, not due to ship for another three weeks, is getting its fair share of accessory launches, with several new cases from WaterField and Quirky. WaterField has announced the iPad Smart Case, a drop-in case which features multi-layered padding with a rigid insert and ultrasuede lining, along with a water-resistant exterior to help protect against damage. The case arrives with a low-profile pocket for a charger cable and comes in black, silver, red, brown green and blue. It is due to ship for $60 within one to three weeks of the iPad's initial availability.
WaterField's lightweight iPad Slip Case uses water-resistant fabric on its exterior, while a plush interior and impact-resistant plastic help protect the iPad screen. It comes in black, copper, flame, green, pearl and pine. The case is also due to ship within one to three weeks of the iPad's ship date, at a price of $30.
Quirky is launching the Cloak featuring office-folder styling. Made of non-slip rubber, the case takes the iPad through its top opening and is holds it in place with a friction grip. The iPad can be positioned to sit in portrait orientation on a flat surface by folding the Cloak’s front cover behind the iPad and using a plastic support brace located on the inside cover for vertical viewing. For landscape mode, the front cover elevates the screen from behind. It is now available to pre-order for $36.
