updated 05:45 pm EST, Mon March 8, 2010

Update also brings several new features

Symscape on Monday announced that an update to its computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software, Caedium, is now available as a native application for Mac OS X Leopard and Snow Leopard. The commercial analysis tool allows engineers to perform CFD simulations during the design process.

Along with the Mac support, v2.1 also brings a variety of enhancements such as improved 3D selection speed and shortcut keys. The properties panel now switches tabs and expands new properties, while ASCII point sets can be imported as vertices and groups for easy spline fitting. Users can also create a rectangular grid as the bases for easy geometry placement and construction.

Caedium 2.1 is available in several editions including Professional, RANS Flow, Panel Flow, Builder, Transient, Exchange, and Viz Export. Pricing information is available through company contacts.
