1Cross Tech shows combo e-book reader, MID

Relative newcomer 1Cross Tech has showed off its MID Hybrid at the CeBIT show. The device has a unique book-like form factor that marries a 6-inch, 600x800 e-paper display with a 3.2-inch, 480x320 resistive touch LCD that runs on Android 1.6. A stylus is housed in the body and Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and an accelerometer are all part of the standard specs as well.

Processing power comes from an unnamed Marvell-made ARM processor.

A SIM card slot is optional for connection to 3G networks such as TD-SCDMA in China, HSPA or EVDO. A GPS sensor can also be ordered and the device can be used as a cellphone. A VGA webcam is likewise integrated. For power, it runs on a 2,000mAH battery; storage comes from a microSDHC card. Users can render content from the LCD over to the e-paper screen, though it hasn't been said exactly what types of files are supported.

There is no access to the Android Market, but 1Cross Tech says it's working on bringing the app portal to its MID Hybrid.

Prices or ship dates are also in the works, but the former could be in the range of $400. [via ARMdevices]
