Microsoft Pure phone likely spotted at FCC

Sharp PB20ZU further confirms Project Pink

Microsoft's rumored Project Pink phones gained even more support on Thursday as a newly discovered FCC filing correlates with the second design. Following earlier confirmation of the Turtle, the Pure also appears to have surfaced as the Sharp PB20ZU. It lines up with the phone's conventional slide-out QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen design and carries a similar label design to that of the Turtle.

While no large amount of information has surfaced outside of the shape, the Pure on show runs on CDMA networks and so is very likely to show on Verizon, or potentially Sprint. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are just as present and back suspicions that the Pure and Turtle are entry-level smartphones. Previous rumors have hinted that they may use NVIDIA Tegra chips and run on Microsoft's still-mysterious Premium Mobile Experience.

No clues exist of the planned release date or software, but many believe the phones will be co-branded as "Microsoft+Sharp" to skirt around the controversy of Microsoft custom-designing hardware and choosing a favorite manufacturer. [via Engadget]
