Quietly expose iPhone weaknesses
Apple is now airing two new TV ads for the iPhone, "On Hold" and "First Steps." The former suggests that the phone is handy when waiting for someone to pick up the line, since a person can spend the time checking e-mail, paying bills or downloading games. Cellular calls are one of the few functions that the iPhone OS allows multitasking with; it is impossible to run two third-party apps simultaneously.
The second spot likewise highlights several iPhone features, beginning with the iPhone 3GS' video recording. Also mentioned are the ability to share videos via MMS, and organize conference calls through touch menus. Both ads notably exclude upload and download times, which in reality would make the demonstrated actions less convenient.

misleading
They should totally have to make a 5 minute commercial, showing the whole upload/download times, instead of a 30-second one because no one in this day and age will understand the internet does not work at the speed of light, and will then be forced to begin a class-action lawsuit. The same with every other 'elapsed time' commercial, like paper towel commercials that say 'actual time 2 minutes' to fully absorb the spill. Commercials are too short, and real life activities and times should never ever be cut out.
