Faster computation and rendering
E-on has released an update to its 3D Digital Nature software, Vue. Version 8.4 brings a variety of improvements and new features, including faster computation and rendering of displaced materials on standard terrains. The utility also integrates a new multi-materials function, allowing users to change all materials of an object in a single operation. The multi-materials can then be saved for future use, or copied between different objects in a scene.
A "Relative to sea" material mapping option and "Sea level" input node have been added, along with several new user-definable units for function graphs. OpenGL support has been improved for faster previewing, while the rendering of shaded EcoSystem billboards is said to offer more accurate coloring and reduced flickering.
The Vue 8.4 update is currently available as a beta download for registered users of the xStream or Infinite editions, while the formal update will be released next week for the company's entire Vue product line for 3D artists.
