Infinitec USB Memory stick allows streaming

Infinitec recently announced the upcoming release of its so-called Infinite USB Memory (IUM) device, which allows users to share content and stream media from any connected device. The company promises all file formats are supported, regardless of extension or type and users can stream files from their computers to Blu-ray players, gaming consoles or most any multimedia-capable device with a USB port. Streaming of full HD files is also said to be one of the capabilities of the system.

Infinitec also promises Windows, Max OS X and Linux compatibility with the drive. Games consoles such as the PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii are likewise said to be capable of receiving streamed content through the IUM.

The IUM does not have any memory storage on its own, but instead relies on a Wi-Fi connection to receive a signal and content. Plug-and-play operation is also said to be the IUM's forte, without the need to install any drivers or software, though it does need to be paired with the host PC.

Despite the introduction, Infinitec has not announced a release date or pricing for its IUM, though more information is expected on March 1st.

What a striking and inconspicuous unit. I think they need to reskin it.
