Canon 1Ds Mark IV due next week with 32MP sensor?

updated 10:20 pm EST, Thu February 18, 2010

EF 24mm - 70mm f/2.8 IS lens also expected

Canon is allegedly set to release an update to its flagship full-frame DSLR, the 1Ds, according to a Canon Rumors report. The information is said to have come from a source with a mixed record. The Mark IV edition is believed to jump from the current 21 megapixel sensor up to a 32 megapixel component, although other specs remain unknown.

The rumor also suggests Canon will release an IS version of its popular EF 24mm - 70mm f/2.8 lens. Other possibilities include a niche-market lens and another EF-mount offering.

Separate rumors suggest Canon may be readying an EOS 60D. The source of the recent information, however, claims the 60D will not be launched next week alongside the high-end 1Ds Mark IV.

32mp on a tiny little sensor like that, even if it is full frame, is stupid. Too much noise and too little color rendition. Canon is relying too much on their software to make colors and light come out more, and thus, the actual performance is being degraded.

    Actually it may work...

You have to look at Hasselblad 31 .1 Megapixel Camera. They might have shared research with Kodak and or Hasselblad or they developed their own.
