New Automator action automates common tasks

Elevated Software Development has announced fScanX 1.4, an update to its document scanning software for Fujitsu scanners. The app provides tools for scanning documents into files, with support for speeds of up to 90 pages per minute. The utility is designed for Fujitsu scanners, including the fi-6140, fi-4340C, and fi-6670. The latest version offers support for flatbed scanners, while integrating a tool for automating scans.

The Automator feature allows users to automatically run common tasks without writing code. The new function supports drag-and-drop controls and enables customizable automation sequences by selecting and connecting individual actions. Potential functions including printing directories of contacts from Address Book, or adding images from websites to iPhoto.

fScanX is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 or higher and ranges in prices from $150 to $700 for a license, depending on which scanner model is used.
